Mirror Talks

Here's my #day22 prompt inspired poem based on the Tamil proverb- அகோர தபசி விபரீத சோரன் (Akōra tapaci viparīta cōraṉ) that translates as "All saint without, all devil within."

A bottomless pit

of a question

hunting

and haunting

in cold whispers

Are you a Saint

or a Sinner?

In the darkness

I throw back,

Who’s asking?

All righteousness

is the image

to be seen,

to be heard

My vanity laughs

wicked,

Know yourself dear

pretender

Voices in the other

ear

You’re me, I’m you

And

that’s the truth.

Is it? Ask.

Doubt, a consolation

Or land of make-believe

that you’re better

than you are.
